We firmly believe that investing in quality and certified organic products for your pet means investing in his/her health to ensure prosperity and well-being. For this reason, we have taken a NO Nasties Pledge and are sending all nasty chemicals to exile. Specifically, we are proud to say that all Doglyness products are free from any of the ingredients listed below, which are instead common in most commercial pet shampoos and conditioners and that can turn out to be harmful in the long run.
With Doglyness, you will never get in contact with GMOs and carcinogens, Parabens, Petrochemicals, Phenoxyethanol, Phthalates, Polyethylene glycols (PEG), Propylene glycol (PPG), Silicones, Sulfates (SLS/SLES), Synthetic dyes, Triclosan and similar carcinogens.
Absolutely! Natural standard and transparency is our goal.
Almost all the ingredients we use in our products come from the highest quality botanical sources from the EU, and we call them our Earth's plants. Here you can learn more about the different groups of plant-based ingredients we've selected that will help us together achieve a transformative evolution. Each one was meticulously sourced and tested by our biochemists to ensure safety, quality, and efficacy. We also included the EWG scores of each (please refer to the total list pages)—we are proud that the vast majority come in at 1 as the highest quality and safest ingredients on the market.
Here you can find a complete list of ingredients that we use in our formulations and why we choose them.
Absolutely! People are awakening to the benefit of using natural products on their pets. Chemicals destroy not only your pet's skin and hair but also their health and our hands. Dog's coat and skin will always respond better to natural products compatible with their fundamental needs for a long, happy, and healthy life. Therefore, it's essential to always look for a trusted certified organic logo to ensure you are indeed receiving a certified organic product you and your family can trust.
All Doglyness cosmetic products for pets are ethically sourced and certified organic and vegan by the ECOGEA Institute.
ECOGEA Institute certifies only natural and organic products based in the EU.
Preservatives are not the highlight of any cosmetic product, but products wouldn't last a week without them.
Also, there is a big difference between the type of preservatives used in the formulations, especially in the natural cosmetic industry. The preservative's job is to prevent microorganisms and bacteria growth that would otherwise contaminate the product.
Preservatives used in Doglyness products are eco or food-grade preservatives recognized by ECOGEA, ECOCERT, and COSMOS - leading organizations for certifying organic and natural products in Europe. The provided list here is the list of the safest and most commonly used preservatives in the organic skincare industry.
The preservatives' job is to prevent microorganisms and bacteria's growth that would otherwise contaminate the product.
Preservatives, by their very nature, must be somewhat destructive to perform this job successfully. Presently, no 100% natural or organic preservative effectively protects a product from contamination for a long time compared to what most consumers consider an acceptable shelf-life expectancy.
Here is why we use preservatives, what kind of preservatives, and what their job is.
At Doglyness, we take great pride in our products, containing 98–99% natural/organic ingredients, and we prefer to use safer scents. We believe dogs are much more sensitive to smells than humans, and many people are already susceptible to fragrance or would like to avoid it altogether.
This is why we use fragrances in low quantities of 0.2–0.3% of the total product, mostly to cover the base of products and stabilize the formulation's odor. Within Doglyness products, we only use IFRA certified fragrances.
Unfortunately, artificial fragrances are a massive industry. And the manufacturers are way more interested in their profits than they are in your or your pet's health! Each fragrance can contain hundreds of chemicals that can be harmful to your dog and you. Many of the fragrance compounds have similar chemical structures to pesticides.
Legally, companies don't have to list all of the chemicals in fragrances (read original source). The word fragrance on a product label is a catch-all. And they don't have to tell you what's in there. In 2010, the consumer watchdog Environmental Working Group published an article stating that 3,613 ingredients hide behind the word fragrance (read original source).
EWG rates toxic chemicals according to risk; 1 in 20 of these chemicals had a "high hazard" score. Twenty-five of them scored a 10, the highest score. This means anything you use in your home with artificial fragrances is probably unsafe. The substances in them are volatile, meaning they are quickly absorbed directly through the skin from the air. Many of them accumulate in the body over time.
